For Your Consideration

Today’s wired world makes it easier than ever for writers to publish their work online. But the rise of Internet publishing, blogging and ebooks endangers the time-honored tradition of the printed review. Independent journals everywhere are struggling to survive — and so is a platform for launching the careers of emerging writers.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. My friends over at Creative Colloquy are starting up a printed review. They’re bringing the voices of writers like myself to a wider audience, but they need help to get there.

They are raising money through an IndieGogo campaign to jumpstart work on Creative Colloquy Volume 1. It’s a flexible funding campaign, so unlike Kickstarter, they get every penny when it’s over, even if they don’t reach their $5,000 goal.

I leave this here for your consideration. If you value the written word and want to support Creative Colloquy’s mission to support local writers, then I urge you to contribute. Every dollar counts. $25 will get you a copy of the first issue, which may include my short story, “The Observable Universe.” There are also options to purchase advertising space for your website or business.

I know that they’ll appreciate your help in the last couple of days of the campaign. Let’s make Creative Colloquy Volume 1 a reality.
